of them is your site's page ranking. The more optimized your site is, the higher
your chances of securing a top spot on search engines.
SEO Techniques
There are many techniques you can employ when optimizing your site for search
engines. Following are some of them.
URL. Choose a domain name that is related to or the same as
your keyword. Not only do search engines look at this to determine your site's
relevance to a user's search, but having the right URL can also make it easier
for users to find and remember your site.
Meta Tags. Meta tags (e.g., <title>, <keyword>,
<description>, etc.) are the most powerful on-site SEO techniques. These
tags can be found in a web page's HTML code. For efficient use, ensure your
main keyword is present in all the tags.
Keyword Density. Once you've decided on a keyword, be sure
to fill your web content with these keywords. Having a keyword-rich site serves
to affirm search engines of your site's relevance. There are rules pertaining
to keyword density, so do some research before you implement this SEO technique.
Link Popularity. Link popularity refers to the number of other
sites that link to yours. Preferably, these links must contain your keyword,
so try to keep your keywords short.
Some search engines don't consider sites that don't have at least one or two
links to your site. However, be sure to use this SEO technique with care. Ensure
that the sites linking to your site are relevant or related to your business,
that they are credible, and that they are not spam sites.
